Castaic Lake is the largest state water project reservoir in Southern California.
With over 11,200 acres of parkland and open space habitat, visitors can be found enjoying all types of activities at Castaic Lake: fishing, swimming, tubing, kayaking, wakeboarding, BBQing, etc.
So, it’s no wonder why local residents like Egidio DellaRipa understand the value Castaic Lake provides to their community, and why they’re committed to protecting its beauty and integrity.
So, when Egidio was named as Scorpion’s May Employee of the Month (EoM) and given the opportunity to choose a charitable organization to receive a donation from the company, he immediately knew where that money would go…
Formed in 1983 as a nonprofit organization, the Friends of Castaic Lake (FOCL) is a group of dedicated volunteers who continue to make a positive impact on the Castaic Lake Recreation Area. Today, their mission is to support and enhance the operation of the lake and surrounding land by conducting fundraisers and special events that support park programs and projects.
When asked why he would choose to support the Friends of Castaic Lake, Egidio had this to say:
“The Friends of Castaic Lake do wonderful things for my community.
From the special events they hold like Fishin’ and Fun for Kids day and the C.A.S.T. event for disabled children, to simply picking up trash to help keep the park clean, FOCL is centered around creating a positive experience for everyone looking to enjoy Castaic Lake. This makes a huge impact for the area’s residents, and they couldn’t be more deserving.”
